Buenos Aires, December 15 (NA) – Members of the Budget and Finance Committee decided on Monday to continue the term of national deputy for La Libertad Avanza Alberto 'Bertie' Benegas Lynch as president of the body. The ruling party is pushing for debates to have the budget bill approved this very week. The committee will meet again on Tuesday from noon with the aim of finalizing the report to be passed in the chamber, according to the Argentine News Agency. LLA holds 20 of its own deputies in the 49-seat Budget Committee, but by adding its allies from PRO, UCR, MID, Federal Innovation, Independence, and Elijo Catamarca, it reaches 28 signatures, so it will have no problem approving the majority report. On the opposition side is Unión por la Patria with 18 members, and the Unidos alliance (which brings together Provincias Unidas and two other blocks), which has not yet defined its three members in protest over what it considers insufficient representation granted by the ruling party in the strategic Budget Committee.
